Crystal Head Vodka

Posted in Alcohol, Spirits by Coty | Tags: , , ,

Crystal Head Vodka was first introduced a little over a year ago by comedian extraordinaire, Dan Aykroyd. The human skull packaging was designed by Long Island based designer, John Alexander. The Crystal Head is an obvious tribute to the 13 Crystal Skulls that are thought to be found in various locations around the world.

“This Pure Spirit, vodka triple filtered through polished crystals known as Herkimer diamonds, free of additives, is exquisite any time of the year but perhaps ideal for October. Brought to us by Dan Aykroyd, known for his fascination with the invisible world, Crystal Head Vodka ties in with the story of the 13 Crystal Heads that have been unearthed at various times on our planet… from the Yucatan to Tibet. The Heads are believed to emit positive energy, good will and prosperity. Crystal Head Vodka is perfect as a lone shot, chilled or served in signature cocktails. Unlike most vodkas in today’s marketplace that use additives, glycol, citrus and sugar to improve smoothness and flavor, Crystal Head Vodka is a pure spirit with no additives. It is quadrupled distilled and filtered three times through charcoal followed by triple filtration over Herkimer crystals from one of the planets rarest deposits of close concentrated semi-precious stones.”

Hudson Manhattan Rye Whiskey

Posted in Alcohol, Spirits by Coty | Tags: , ,

The unique packaging for this bottle of whiskey makes it look as if it is coming to you straight from the period of prohibition. This whiskey is pot distilled from rye grain and features 46% alcohol. Live in New York? Do me a favor and visit Tuthilltown Spirits and ship me a bottle.

“Until Prohibition New York was known for its rye whiskey. This feisty spirit was the basis for the legendary Manhattan cocktail, made famous by Jenny Churchill (Winston’s Mum). Rye had not been produced in New York for over 80 years, but Tuthilltown Spirits’ Hudson Manhattan Rye Whiskey signals the return of the quintessential New York Whiskey. Our rye is made from whole grain rye one batch at a time. It is not the blended rye whiskey your parents used to mix with soda. This is honest rye whiskey. Hudson Manhattan Rye Whiskey is bottled at 92 proof. It is fruity, floral and smooth, with a recognizable rye edge that leaves no doubt the origin of the spirit. Each bottle is hand filled, capped, waxed and numbered. Enjoy the return of this classic American spirit.”

Talk about amazing product shot. The sexy and svelte Afri Cola bottle makes me want to jump on a plane to Germany and find a bottle for myself. Prior to seeing this on ffffound, I had never heard of Afri Cola. At first I thought that Afri Cola was a new trendy drinky, instead, it has quite a history having been first introduced to the German public in 1931. For a short time in the 90’s, Afri Cola was available in select cities in the US, including Seattle and Minneapolis. Afri Cola is also available in Austria, France, Saudi-Arabia, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.

Poison Flask

I remember that my Grandpa would always have a drink of whiskey after lunch and he would always refer to it as either juice or poison. Most of the time it was juice but sometimes it would be poison. I guess it depended on how he was feeling on that particular day. In retrospect, I think that he’d actually appreciate this hand engraved poison flask from Refinery29 Shops.

  • Stainless steel
  • Hand engraved – no two flasks are the same
  • 3.5 oz; screw top lid

These carved wood bottle openers from Gent Supply Co. is definitely not your average bottle opener. They may not be suitable to hang on your keychain but they would look good on your living room coffee table. My favorite is the elephant!

Sturdy enough for every day use, while being a great addition to any room. Owl and bull are wood and brass. Elephant is wood, brass and leather. Available in Elephant, Bull or Owl.”

Tap Water Bottle

Most of us know that water is good for us. But that good can sometimes be canceled out when using the wrong container to hold it in. With the growing concern over bisphenol-a, or BPA in plastic bottles many people have been looking for alternatives to hold their favorite drink. In comes the Tap Water Bottle. Sure, it’s nothing more than a glass bottle, but it is safe for you and functional at the same time. The flip cap makes loosing or dropping caps a thing of the past.

“It’s always best to store water in glass containers. Water is the universal solvent. It dissolves some part of everything it contacts. When water is stored in plastic containers, it takes on some of the chemicals the plastic is made from. Water stored in glass containers tastes better and looks better. Glass is better for you, and better for our planet. You can see what you’re drinking. …and the flip cap provides a superior seal that won’t get lost.”

Oh Expresso by Malongo

Posted in Cookware, Products by Coty | Tags: ,

I know, it’s espresso and not expresso but French based coffee maker, Malongo, decided to go with the sexy and unorthodox spelling. In any case, the machine looks great despite having a bulky upper body. With Oh Expresso you have a choice of 7 coffee and 3 tea blends and it comes in three different colors: gold, black and white.

“This machine uses the 123 Spresso concept, a simply and effective system using pre-dosed coffee pods. It is a real espresso machine with a pressure of 16 bars. How does it work? Just slot the pod into the top of the machine, select the type of coffee you want to make and stop it once the coffee is served as you like it. The used pod is then automatically ejected into the box beneath the machine. It does not have a steam function for making cappuccinos.”

Karlsson’s Vodka

Posted in Alcohol, Spirits by Coty | Tags: , , ,

The bottles for the Karlsson’s Vodka line is a thing of beauty and it should be since Karlsson’s collaborated with the man behind the svelte Absolut bottle.

“To ensure this new and unique concept for vodkas was presented in a relevant and appropriate way, Peter Ekelund contacted another old partner from the Absolut launch: Hans Brindfors, the key person behind the Absolut bottle. Mr Brindfors created a new unique package for the Karlsson’s vodka, based on a standard laboratory bottle. This unique design drives the focus to what is inside the bottle rather than to the bottle itself (a bold move for a designer).”

The packaging alone begs me to have a taste of of this vodka made of potatoes and cultivated at the Bjäre peninsula in Skåne, Sweden. Sexy.
